PROCESS
Negative Space iPhone Wallpapers
I initially explored using the shape of Africa in the negative space between books on a library shelf. However, the composition felt somewhat static, and some of the books needed to be unrealistically thin for the continent’s details to read clearly.
As my process evolved, I became interested in contrasting positive (educated) and negative (uneducated) situations within the same visual.
The primary difficulty was fitting in a negative-space image that read clearly without competing with the positive space. I was set on showing a child writing, as it reflects a core skill learned in school.
